The Main Band played before and during the Wedding and one piece of music went down really well (Singing in the Rain). The reception then moved to the Cheshire View where it went on till the early hours.Check out the Photo gallery on our website to see what certain members got upto.We would like to give Mr & Mrs Saunders all our best wishes for the future.

Solo winners

09/07/2007

Our 7th annual solo competition and BBQ was held at Aldford Village hall on Sunday 8th July. Some fantastic performances were seen from 19 competitors of all ages! For the first time the winner of the training band 'only' trophy was also the overall winner of the Margaret Blythin trophy. Playing 'Troika' Jacob Bentley amazed the audience and band alike, and made adjudicator Peter Dalton's job easy in selecting first place. Peter commented that deciding on the runner-up positions was much more difficult with some excellent performances from all players. Runners-up were Aine and Chrissy.

David Else presented the Vice President's award to Amy, our new percussion star, and Mathew was presented with the Player of the Year award. This award is selected by player vote. All participants received medals and certificates.

Other highlights of the day were the 'old men' duet by John and Josh - accompanied on the piano by Aine, the audience participation during the band's first public rendition of YMCA and of course the Jackson 'extravaganza' which for fear of litigation is best left undescribed, but had everyone in tears!

Sylvia laid on a great BBQ - cooked to perfection by Paul J and the 2 Andrews :)

Thanks to Tony and Paula for organising another great day....

Please send me your photo's and I'll post them in the photo gallery (Ian)
