Quick reminder about the solo comp. and bbq on Sunday Sep 7th. Aldford Village Hall, starts 11.30am. A rounders match will follow the BBQ :)

All TB members invited to play short solo, duet or group piece.

Main band members please come along and support (bring your instrument to sit-in with the training band as they play a few pieces too - let Tony Blain know you're coming so we can make sure there's enough food!

This Friday - 8th August 08. The band's playing in the marquee at Dunham. An anual event the band will be playing all the tunes and songs you really like!

The event is being held at Fairhaven in VIllage Road, Dunham Hill.

Turn right on the way out of Chester opposite The Wheatsheaf pub.

Concert starts at 7.30pm and our CD will be on-sale so bring £8 extra for that too!

The concert will be conducted by ex-MD of Chester Derek Mitchell making a welcome return to the band while Phil's on holiday.

Ãine Jackson has just learned she passed her grade 7 on baritone with merit. Congratulations!

Training Band and main band rehearsal updates below:

Training Band rehearsals - last one before summer break this Monday Aug 4th; in the bandroom. Normal start time of 6pm. We'll run on to 8pm - main band members are encouraged to join us. Also if you wish to stay on during main band then you are welcome to. Training Band first rehearsal then is Sep 1st at the bandroom.

Up until Xmas the training band will be held in the band room on the first Monday of every month. These rehearsals will run from 6pm until 8pm with main band members sitting-in from 7.30pm (or before if they can make it).

TB Monday bandroom dates Sep 1st, Oct 6th, Nov 3rd, Dec 1st

Don't forget the solo comp and BBQ on Sep 7th... get those pieces going over the summer break!

Main band rehearsals: rehearsals this Mon (4th) and Weds (6th) 8-10pm, Derek will take these. We'll be running through the material for the Dunham concert on Friday 8th August which Derek will conduct. After this the band will break until Mon Sep 1st.

Joining Chester Band is a great way to increase your job or academic success! It must be as we keep losing players as they go off to new and exciting jobs or to advanced study.....

So enhance your career and join us. We need Bflat bass, trombone, horn, cornets and percussion...
