Evening Leader, Friday. 'Cathedral honour for band celebrating 150 years'

Still working up in Scotland!, Ian Clowes has had to step down from his band commitments, including PR and the Training Band Coordinator role. Working together with Rob Fletcher,Ian founded the TB 4 years ago following a series of workshops, seeing the band develop into the TB that performed in the Cathedral a few weeks ago. At the Cathedral Concert 9 TB players played with the Main Band... The Training Band is still looking for a new Musical Director. Anyone interested should contact Phil Mottershead via the band contact pages. Donna Jackson will take over the rehearsal admin from Denise Clowes, and Tony Blain will look after the finances. Anyone interested in helping out should also contact Phil.

The City of Chester Band were proud to once again represent Chester in the remembrance parade. Robert MacDonald, solo cornet, played the Last Post, followed by the band playing NImrod. A final march through town brought the band back to the Town Hall square. Chester's Own Brass Band, doing what it does best... representing Chester.

The Training Band is out at Broughton Retail Park on Sunday in support of the charity BIBIC, the British Institute for Brain Injured Children www.bibic.org.uk Take a look at their website... The band will be there from 12.30 to 14.30, and it's mandatory to wear silly socks!!! Why not come along and give some support to this charity.... we have! Senior band members very welcome,, pop a chair in the boot, we may be short.

Mon 27th October Combined session at Mickle Trafford Scout Hut... ALL Welcome, but note time is 1900h.... just for an hour or so. Probably a pint in the Shrewsbury afterwards :-) And there was too!! That TB music's not all easy!!! Friday 31st rehearsal as normal. TB rehearsal as normal next week.

Its Pontins weekend again, that means for many bands the annual pilgrimage to Prestatyn in North Wales. For some bands this also means trying to find rehearsal facilities. This weekend the famous Wingates band will be competing at Pontins in the Championship section and they will be using City of Chester’s bandroom to polish up their performance.
