The training band aimed for £1,000 to be raised over the Xmas outings - and the news is just in from Tony......
the total was £1,147...... well done! We're well on the way to our training band tour in March! Merry Xmas.
Yep, Heathcotes confirmed that 11,500 revellers had passed by the training band over Xmas - being welcomed to their evening festivities at Chester racecourse! Some audience :)
One of our 'giggle' of trombones in the training band is celebrating distinction at grade 2 :) Alice Gooda, taught by our resident brass tutor Peter Dalton.
Congratulations Alice!
It won't be too long before Alice and Libby will be ready to give the main band a try, but until then we are still looking for another main band trombone player....
Friday saw the training band playing for the race course revellers.... and Sainsburys bag packing on Saturday. Saturday night took thev main band to a charity concert at Hamilton Street methodist church - in aid of Callin Court, the band playing for free - raising over £350 for Callin Court.
On Sunday the band entertained the territorial army at Fox Barracks. Checkout the new 'blue' Euph player in the photo gallery.(and enjoyed a very pleasant Xmas lunch!) before heading over to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd for the annual tree of light service.
This Friday the band is at St Luke's church in Dunham Hill for the final Xmas concert - the training band at the racecourse Weds, Thurs and Saturday before the annual carolathon at Saughall church on Sunday night. They're then out the following week at the racecourse Thurs/Fri finishing Xmas on Sunday 23rd Dec in the Grosvenor shopping precinct... the final main band outing is Fri 21st - carols at Boughton Heath.
Merry Xmas.....
The Cd's now gone off to the production company... should be available in January. You can register for more info by email to [email protected] and we'll let you know when it's available....
Thanks to Sainsburys in Chester - and the brave shoppers who allowed the training band to pack their shopping last Saturday. The merry band - including Tony and Ian (crisps at the bottom, potatoes on top....) collected £313 :) towards the first tour to be held in 2008.
