100 years after the end of the First World War we are honoured to be part of our communities ceremonies.
The band will be out in competition at Rochdale on Sunday. It's a beautiful building ( if Hitler had won the war he wanted to transport it back to Germany ) and a bargain £7 will allow you to listen to all the bands who are playing own choice pieces. It's a great way of listening to a huge variety of test pieces and there's a weatherspoons nearby. https://www.rochdaleonline.co.uk/events/57657/events-in-rochdale/rochdale-brass-band-contest
The last time we were here our principal horn player married our percussion player Alex.
Hopefully our return visit will be just as full of joy and good music.

Congratulations to all those attending Chester University. Here at City of Chester we have a long history of welcoming students, many of whom make Chester their permanent home. Our recent committee meeting is possibly unusual in that the majority of members of the committee are under 30 and we have a few students in various sections to welcome you aboard. Contact us for a warm welcome for whatever brass or percussion you play.
Both the Training Band and Junior Band will be taking a hard earned rest from Monday 16th July until Monday 3rd September. As in the past we have struggled to have even half a band over the summer holiday season we have stopped rehearsals over this period. Both Bands will return on September 3rd in preparation for an event at Huntington on 8th September. When this is over it will be a mad dash to get ready for the annual band Solo Competition being held on September 23rd at Aldford Village Hall.
